some fish isn’t foul

THE LOST TRIBES OF THE LAMPREY AE MEETING THIS SUNDAY!!!

COMMUNIQUE FOLLOWS FROM THE BIG SUCKER:

The theme of this months show which will open is
“Fish Flesh Fowl”
it has been unofficially nicknamed the “God Show”

SUNDAY>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>JULY 4th
2pm until whatever hour we so desire.
BYOB and no fireworks this time unless they are pretty
the banging ones…….firecrackers bottle rockets etc….
scare the hell out of my dogs and they just aren’t pretty enough
to justify that………….
But Big Sky Candy is welcome.

We are building a mobile.
Tim and I will have all sorts of stuff….wood, sheet metal etc….
that can be adorned with your interpretations of the theme
you may work directly on the pieces or we can glue pieces to the wood
or if youu have the desire you can make a 3D thing that can be attached
I have metal rods we will be attaching all of this stuff to.
Weight is not really a problem……we can also make a couple of mobiles that sort of interact with one another.
so if you have a piece bring it or bring the goods to
paint/glue/etc…..whatever you wish
your stuff to the material Tim and I provide…
also if you have any dandy pieces of whatnot tat you think might make
a nice thingamadoodle to be adorned by yourself or others bring it as
well.

Looking forward to seeing you here.

as usual you can construct your piece at home and bring it
or you can construct it here

but as this is going to be a bit of a rush
you all need to complete it by the end of the day ideally,
but absolutely….no later than the fifth

must be a microsoft database

Justice Department Says It Can’t Share Lobbying Data Because Computer System Will Crash – from TBO.com A new lame excuse to avoid dealing with a freedom of information act request: claim the computer will crash and the database will be corrupted if you attempt to copy the data…

I’m going to be out of email range for a few days as i resume my nomadic existance. You can keep on sending them, but i’ll be lax in returning them like i was this weekend.

pirate and induce

The government is passing more legislation to protect outmoded bizniz models and make you a criminal for fair use.

wired’s overview “The Senate introduced the Induce Act, which critics say would ban file-sharing networks and stymie the introduction of any technology that could be used to copy and distribute copyright work. In addition, the Senate passed the Pirate Act, which would make it easier for the feds to go after file swappers. And on Friday, it passed a bill that would throw anyone caught videotaping a movie in theater into prison for up to three to 10 years. In the House of Representatives, a committee approved a bill that would ban the use of spyware to track computer users without their permission.”

The Register explains INDUCE: “It may soon be possible to carry around an AK-47 assault rifle and an iPod with you down the street – and be arrested for carrying the iPod.

That’s according to critics of a Senate amendment to the copyright code proposed by Sen. Orrin Hatch this week called the ‘Induce Act’. He wants to make the ‘intentional inducement of copyright infringement’ an offense, and this will extend liability to any manufacturer of a device which plays infringed material, or a shop that sells such a device, they say.”

CNET on PIRATE: “The U.S. Senate on Friday overwhelmingly approved a controversial proposal that would let federal prosecutors file civil lawsuits against suspected copyright infringers, with fines reaching tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars.”

The view from Europe by Dr. Karl Lenz: “First of all, while it might be true that this legislation will help to make America a technological backwater, with iPods and the Internet being illegal under this legislation, depending on your perspective, that is actually a good thing. It helps Europe and Japan in the global competition with America to have strange American laws strangling research and development there, so from an international point of view, I can only say “go ahead”.”

monty python and the holy nichrome wire

DesCon 9: Astron Black Space Knight This won’t make any sense unless your both a fan of a 35 year old british comedy series and model rockets. it’s a working model rocket of the Black Knight from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. tHE MOVIE btw, is not just funny, but closer to the middle ages then the thing that’s about to hit the screen (but that could be said about the two Mel Brooks Robin Hood properties “when things were rotten” and Robin Hood: Men In Tights.)

and he says he made em public

EditorandPublisher.com – Information Authority for the Newspaper Industry: AP Lawyer: It’s ‘Curious’ We’ve Had to Sue for Bush Records. No one was expecting him to just hand them over were they? Like Jack Ryan’s custody files, they might embarass his kids-if they were sober.
