Well, 2007 went down like dingy in a typhoon (yeah yeah, I know what you were thinking, you got a dirty mind…). Now on to 2008. Let’s up things shape up, so here’s to Happy Healthy Prosperous and PEACEFUL New Year. If a bunch of artists could make a serious difference for Kim Assaley, imagine what wonders you can do. So spread some love this year, it’ll come back in triplicate.

Any Operating System update that forces me to change my current workflow against my wishes, BECAUSE IT IS INCAPABLE OF PERFORMING THE ACTIONS THE PREVIOUS VERSION WAS CAPABLE OF IS A FAILURE. Even if the workflow just involved keeping 60 tabs open in Firefox. likewise if it forces me to turn off features that have been there since day one. Or not use some/any/all the new features for fear of bogging/crashing my machine. Extra special failure points for random irreproducible system lock ups without the spinning beach ball of doom and random miss-writing of the screen (honestly, that’s something that hasn’t happened to me since i quit using Windows 98).
There are shitloads of tech things I want to comment in, but don’t want to bore everyone.
Robin Rios reports:
Susan Clinard, one of Chicago’s beloved scultors, had a show recently at the Marsh Botanical Gardens @ Yale University. On November 28th many of her pieces where STOLEN and others were destroyed.
For more info go to Clinard.org
PLEASE IF ANYONE COMES ACROSS ANY OF HER WORK ON THE INTERNET: ie: ebay or Craigs list, Etc. Please contact the authorities listed in the above link.
Thank You in advance for your efforts.
The reports are dripping in slowly, but it appears the “Kim got hit by an ice cream truck and all I got was this fundraiser” was an unmitigated success. Or something similar. Reports are still sketchy, but there was a lot of fun and some money made and Kim herself. I personally want to thank everyone on Kim’s behalf for all the love and all the effort they put into this. And if you found a back pack with some table clothy material in it that was lost during the event, please tell so i can go back to puking.
I’m still laid low by the flu and intestinal upset that hit me last week. Actually I’m doing much better. But there’s a noise abatement problem, and some performance art that most people would find offensive. So I’m laying low. And I want to leave you with this thought. No matter how bad your day is, it’s no where near as bad as the day and night of a homeless guy with the Tijuana Trots. Think about it.
