Gosh thanks Apple. They’re charging $20 for operating system update on the iPod Touch, one that is free for iPhone users. And not a major release–it’s a move from 1.1.2 to 1.1.3. Even more annoying is it’s in part a security fix. So what’s to keep them from jacking you 20 bucks for the next update to the iPhone/iPod Touch software, the one due out in February? Or for the next OS X update? But hey, they’re also charging you for Time Capsule. For a a long time it was a feature of the then beta OS X Leopard. When Leopard shipped, the feature had been removed from Time Machine portion of OS X. Now it’s a hardware product!
I can’t keep making the joke about not getting kissed when you buy an Apple product. And I wonder how Jobs likes being described as filthy greedy pig. Not that the news from the street ever meet his his ears.
